We’ve seen peeks; we’ve heard rumours; we’ve cried tears of joy looking at a clear sky. Ladies and gentlemen – it is finally time for a Victoria summer!

Here are some of our favourite hotspots to hangout this year:

Thetis Lake: Wander down towards Langford to find this beautiful area. One of the things that we love so much about Thetis is that you can choose to set up on the sandy beachfront with everyone, or you can wander down to secluded areas to bask in the sunshine on the cliffs! There are tons of pathways around the lake, and a couple of cool cliff jumping locations too!

Elk Lake: This is our go-to stroll/run/wander path. Being exactly 10 kms in length, the Elk-Beaver loop is perfect for a Sunday run, or a nice long walk with your furry friend! If you are interested in water sports, Elk Lake is the hub for rowing, and is home to Canada’s Olympic team!

Island View Beach: Drive up the highway towards the ferries and you’ll find this summer hot spot. Once at the beach, gaze out at the Gulf Islands National Park, and beautiful San Juan Island. This beach has got the full west coast feel.

Gonzales Beach: Often referred to as the island’s very own Wreck Beach, Gonzales is home to a very funky crowd! If you’re looking for guitar wielding jammers, and frisbee throwing tanners, this is the spot for you! Always busy, always fun!

Willows Beach: One of the reasons that we love Willows Beach so much is the abundance of activities that it allows! You will find a beautiful stretch of beach for all sorts of waterfront fun, a playground for the kiddos (and kids at heart), a concession filled with ice cream and the like, and a large grassy area perfect for sports!

Cattle Point: Well, to be completely honest, anywhere along the famed Dallas Road is incredible in the summertime. We’ve chosen Cattle Point as it falls perfectly in the centre of this beautiful waterfront walkway. Wander down to any of the beach access paths and enjoy beautiful secluded spots to lounge and soak up the sun.
