This hotel is iconic for it’s vast history. Built in 1911, the James Bay Inn has been in operation for over a century. The design was such that every room of the 100 available faced outwards and had ample sunlight and space to take in nature. Over the years the James Bay Inn has transformed. It is still most certainly a little gem here in Vic.
Strathcona Hotel
Known for its iconic bars and buzzing nightlife, The Strathcona is definitely one of the most well-known spots to stay in town. Between the Sticky Wicket, Distrikt Night Club, Rooftop Bar, and Big Bad John’s, there is no shortage of spots to sit back and enjoy a pint. Coming on a weekend? Bonus: if you’re more into the communal/backpacking/low key brand of vacation, the Ocean View Hostel is the place for you. It is most certainly the most well-known and iconic hostel on the island.
