It’s official – spring has sprung here in Victoria and we are very happy about it! Check out our favourite spring activities listed below:
- Check out the cherry blossoms: Victoria is known for its beautiful spring blooms, specifically the cherry blossoms that line the streets in early spring. The best spots to scope some of these stunners are Moss Street, Franklin Street, and Quadra Street.
- Take a hike: Now that the rain has finally subsided *knocks on wood* there are tons of incredible areas to explore! Dust of your hiking boots and head for the hills. We recommend Mount Finlayson, Mill Hill, Mount Douglas or Gowlland Tod Provincial Park.
- Join an adult sports league: Nothing says spring like some good old-fashioned recreational sports league.
- Start your garden: It’s time to slip into those rubber boots and dust off the ol’ green thumb. March 20 marks the official first day of spring, and that means it’s planting time! Even if you find yourself in an apartment, whip out some planters and make your own herb garden!
- Flying Squirrel: It’s as cool as it sounds, folks. Victoria’s first trampoline park opens this May, and it is going to be epic! Load up on sugar, caffeine, pre-workout (?) and prepare for hours of fun!

- Escape Rooms: This winter has hands down been the season of Escapes. If you have yet to try one out, get your butt moving! These hour-long games test your teamwork, your logic, and your stress management. We highly recommend you take those rainy days and make them epic by visiting and Escape Room.
- Rent canoes/kayaks: And on the flip side, on those beautiful sunny spring days, take advantage of the beauty around you and rent a canoe! There are tons of gorgeous places to explore around Victoria.
- Public Market/Market Square: Carve out a couple of hours to wander around a market. It’s spring time, and that means that farmers markets are back with a vengeance! Check out some local vendors and pick up some homegrown snacks. (Bonus: sell items from your garden at the market!)
- Historical tours: There is so much history here in Victoria, and there is no time like the present to head out and take a tour! When you’re escaping the rainy spring weather, visit Hatley Castle, the Royal BC Museum, Craigdarroch Castle, St. Ann’s Academy or the Parliament Buildings.

- Shopping: Yeeah ladies and gents! It’s that time of year again. The sun is out, and the summer clothes are being pulled out of the deep dark corners of your closet. There are undoubtedly a few items that need updating and replacement. Why not take “spring cleaning” and extend it to your wardrobe? We recommend Mayfair Mall and Uptown Centre for all your clothing needs.
