Must-See Vancouver Island Waterfalls

Summer is here and adventure is calling! One of the greatest summertime adventures is exploring the great hidden gems on the island – more specifically, all of the incredible waterfalls (insert witty TLC quote here)! Here are Victoria Hype’s must-see Vancouver Island waterfalls:

Ammonite Falls – Located just north of Nanaimo, Ammonite Falls in stunning and thunderous to behold, but be prepared; you will need hiking shoes for this steep trek.

Goldstream Trestle Falls – Ah, Goldstream, the ol’ faithful hike. It wouldn’t feel like a must-see list without it! Wander out past Langford and walk for a short 5 minutes to see this one.

Sandcut Beach – Are you looking for the perfect profile pic? Visit the Sandcut Beach waterfall, where you can stand underneath the rushing water, with a large rock faced canopy above!

Mystic Beach – Aka the swing waterfall. Although not the most impressive of falls, Mystic Beach offers the opportunity to swing your way out to sea while enjoying the soothing sounds of the water.

Sitting Lady – As the name implies, this waterfall looks very much like a pair of legs sitting on a chair. With two beautiful streams originating from one small outpour, Witty’s Lagoon is quite a unique sight. Bonus: there are viewpoints set for hikers along the way!

Hole in the Wall – A personal favourite, Hole in the Wall is one of the most sought-after and well-visited spots on the Island. After a short hike down, walk through the ‘hole’ to discover a beautiful oasis complete with hundreds of inukshuks created by visitors!
