I never met a sunset I did not like.

Truer words were never written. There is something so cathartic about taking time out of your day to watch the sunset. Nothing is more humbling than perching atop a mountain with a steamy mug of tea to enjoy something so much bigger than you.

Romance, peace of mind, solitude, or celebration, spending time enjoying the beautiful PNW caters to all of the needs. Here are our top 5 spots in and around Victoria to take in the sunset.

Mount Douglas

is a grand a spot as any to take in some cotton candy views. This popular hiking location offers a beautiful 180 degree view from UVic to downtown Victoria. Walk the paths or drive right up to the look out to chase that sunlight.

Moss Rocks

may be lesser known, but is well worth the visit. This quiet hideaway is perfect for anyone who wants to snuggle up close to someone special or have a peaceful spot to meditate and clear their head. It is rare you find a spot in Victoria with views as incredible as this that have yet to be overpopulated. *Hidden gem status

Clover Point

is a total no-brainer. Jutting out into the big ocean blue, Clover Point gives a near 360 view of the breathtaking Victoria sky. Park-and-watch is a huge perk of this stop as we Victorians know that beautiful weather may change in an instant.

Pickles Bluff

is a must visit for everyone at least once. Prepare for a small hike (which can be completed with coffee in hand (tested theory)) up to the lookout point, which emerges from the forested path. If you want to feel like you are on the edge of Sherwood Forest overlooking your kingdom, well then you’ve picked the right spot.

Mill Hill

is located out in Langford and offers a change of scenery from the typical city views. There are a number of different viewpoints along the way, each of which is a bit of a hike to reach. Settle in to one of the many path benches and enjoy the show.

It is easy in our busy lifestyles to lose sight of the little things. And it is common to cater to others and forget about our own well-being. It is comfortable to fall into the routine of work, tv, bed. We at Victoria Hype urge you to take the time to put yourself first, to never stop exploring, and to embrace the beautiful land that we live in.
